Occupational Therapist

Savannah graduated in 2018 in Bsc (Hons) Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Witwatersrand within South Africa. She gained experience working within different settings within South Africa, these included clinic, acute hospitals, and rehabilitation wards. Before moving to the UK in 2022 she was involved within the spinal cord injuries (SCI) unit in a rehabilitation hospital.

She has worked with a wide variety of orthopaedic and neurological conditions within adults and paediatrics. Working with clients who have conditions such as polytrauma, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and cerebral palsy. Savannah enjoys working with clients within the clinic as well as providing treatment at their homes, this helps to better work with our clients in identifying the barriers they might faces and assist them and their family members with improving their independence.

Savannah has done further training in wheelchair seating and postural management which she finds useful to be able to assist clients achieve positions they feel best supported in, allowing increased function and independence in their day-to-day activities. She has attended courses in basic upper limb splinting and use of electrical stimulation for the upper limb.

Savannah provides physical and cognitive rehabilitation at MOTIONrehab’s Leeds clinic, as well as offering home and community visits integrating her interest and expertise in the fitting of wheelchairs, cushions as well as assistive devices.
